In the wine and the bread we remember the day
That Jesus died to take out sins away
Hung upon a cross for the world to see

The wine is his blood like a river that flows
As he died on the cross as he carried our load
To purchase forgiveness amazing but true
He did it for me, did it for you

This bread is his body so broken and bruised
Betrayed and rejected despised and abused
We eat it together to hunger no more
For he is the bread of life

We get so busy as we live for today
It's so easy to work but so hard to pray
Like Israel of old we still need to be told
