Worth Keeping	Willow Creek	Moving into a new home sets the scene for a touching encounter between Dan, a newly hired Major League Baseball player and his mother, who raised him alone. When Dan leaves to move the truck, his mother shares here box of memories with Dan's wife. Among the Little League snapshots and trophies, there is also an afghan that she knitted during his highschool games. Dan had spoken of it, but didn't know his mother had kept it until the box is unpacked. Wonderfully Made	Willow Creek	This sketch is an interpretation of the statement in Psalm 139 that God knits us together in our mother's womb and has a plan for our life. We see a child, Elizabeth, assigned qualities by God while in her mother's womb. She knows she is loved and made just the way God wants. However, once she is born, these feelings change because her parents' aspirations for her are quite different from what she was "told" in the womb. Their "redirection" through the years physically and emotionally stifles who Elizabeth was meant to be, and she grows up a sad and confused child. The Meeting of 2 Mothers	Dramashare	We of course think of Mary and all which she went through at the time of the crucifixion. But what about some of the other participants? In this drama we add another woman, the mother of Judas. While this woman is not identified anywhere in the Bible, obviously there had to be a mother of Judas, therefore she played a part. This drama not only uses the mother of Judas, it gives her a name, "Rebecca". Further, in this drama we suppose that Mary and Rebecca had, as children, been best friends. What if this had been true, and what if, a few weeks after the crucifixion, these two women had met by chance on a lonely street? What would be their reaction to each other? I Beheld Him	Dramashare	This monologue uses Simeon as the central figure. It was Simeon, along with the prophetess Anna, who welcomed Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem. Since virtually nothing is known of Simeon, there is a world of opportunity to expand on this character. Even Simeon's age is unknown, one could assume that he likely was old since he speaks that, "now I can die content", however to assume this would be speculation. The Bellwether	Dramashare	The major part of the impact of this drama comes not from the drama itself but from the song ("The Bellwether" by Newsong - Peter Barrie has the sheet music) and the non-verbal acting by the actors. The non-verbal acting is key to the success of the drama and must be very well rehearsed in order that they are able to put across to the audience the message without the benefit of words. It would be advisable to video tape rehearsals if this is possible in order to allow the actress' to critique their own performances and thus to enhance the performance. Your Goodnes To Me - Psalm 16	Dramashare	This reading, not a drama as such, will use three particpants. The first will read the King James Version, (KJV), translation of verse #1, identified as "1 a)" in the script. Next the second participant will read the New International Version, (NIV), translation of verse #1, identified as "1 b)" in the script. Finally the third participant will read a contemporary version of verse #1, identified as "1c)" in the script. Hannah	Dramashare	Hannah is in period costume. She will be mid twenties in age. She will come across as a mother, tender and loving. Hannah must "stay in character" at all times, yet will look around at the congregation as she talks to the children about their families. It is extremely important that the actress conduct herself in such away as to be entertaining and exciting but she must be very careful not to come across as a "comedy act." This drama is meant to generate interest yet with a theme of dignified, sober sincerity. After walking into the sanctuary she will sit on a chair or on the edge of the platform in order to be at the level of the children. Topics: We must "persevere" in prayer to God. Merry-Go-Rounds and Daisies	Dramashare	This drama features mainly pre-recorded lines and non-verbal acting. Because of this it is extremely important that the lines be delivered with great feeling and that the acting on stage be very outgoing and emotional. The main character is "Grampa", a senior man, (could be Grandma), preferably grey hair, sitting on a park bench, holding a cane. The entire set is meant to be a park area with the bench at a somewhat elevated level at upstage center. Across the downstage is a park walk where the other actors will stroll by in front of Grampa as he observes their strolling and reflects on his memories. The Earring	Dramashare	Entire drama takes place in a family room. The family consists of a father and a teenage daughter. The mother has died a few months previously. The drama centers around a loving father who is over-protective, a teenager who feels smothered by the controls established by her dad and, through it all, the fact that there is great love in the relationship if only it is given the room to exist. Dad, concerned for the safety and welfare of his only daughter, has set the guidelines for her conduct as to curfew, choice of friends, activities, etc. Daughter simply feels unable to conform to her dad's ideals.
